The European Brain Foundation (EBF) is delighted to announce that Vincent Vanasch became its official Patron! Vincent is an acknowledged Belgian hockey player, the World (2018), European (2019), and Olympic (2021) Champion. EBF’s Executive Director, Frédéric Destrebecq and EBF’s Project Manager, Monika Hoang had the pleasure to meet with Vincent in November 2022 and since then he decided to support the EBF. This is not only because of the EBF’s mission to improve citizens’ Brain Health, which is so closely linked to mental health but also due to the personal reasons.
One of Vincent’s mottoes is “Talent wins games, teamwork wins championships”. Next to his sporting career, Vincent holds also a Master’s degree in physiotherapy.
Vincent contributed to the Fundraising Gala Dinner by providing a raffle prize – a signed jersey of National Belgian Hockey Team (Red Lions), which was won by Alfred Deakin Professor of Psychiatry, Michael Berk! He was unfortunately not able to join us on this occasion but we would like to thank him for the kind support and look forward to next collaborations.
